SCIP Wisconsin Chapter Competitive Intelligence Program--Benchmarking American Family Insurance: Madison, WI 11:00AM – 2:00PM Thursday, March 25, 2010 Description In this session John Hink, Global Competitive Intelligence Manager for Fiserv and Scott Hall of Global Intelligence Alliance (GIA) will discuss best practices for benchmarking and roadmaps for creating best-in-class Competitive/Market Intelligence programs. Mr. Hall will cover results from GIA’s 2009 global market Intelligence Survey which leveraged responses from over 720 companies (both large global and smaller, regional organizations). He will discuss the current state of Competitive Intelligence activities in both domestic and international companies and the perceived benefits of those programs. The session will also allow a forum for participants to discuss their own CI practices and best methods to benchmark against their peers. Session topics: · Benchmarks of CI functions in the US and globally · Average CI budgets (for both small and large companies) · Organizational layers between the head of CI/MI and the CEO · Average CI team size · CI Maturity Matrix . Fiserv, the top provider of technology to the Financial Services industry, offers over 730 products to banks, Credit Unions and Wealth Management companies. Fiserv is based in Brookfield, WI. John has over 15 years of experience in the Market Research industry and has focused specifically on Competitive Intelligence for the last seven. He has a strong track record of building Competitive Intelligence functions at large companies (USAA, Metavante and Fiserv), and specializes in developing central corporate-wide Competitive Intelligence systems. John is currently the Chair of the Wisconsin Chapter of SCIP. Scott Hall is currently the Business Development Manager US/Mid-West region for the Global Intelligence Alliance (GIA). Prior to joining GIA, Scott worked as an industry analyst for a global paper manufacturer, provided and presented key market intelligence with decision support to senior leadership.
