SCIP Training: Introduction to Competitive Analysis Description Introduction to CI Analysis is a two-day workshop offering the three steps required for successful intelligence analysis. Using a combination of lecture and case study work, the course will present tools and methods for intelligence problem definition and scoping, specific analytic methodologies, and a template for effective intelligence delivery. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to experiment with the tools and methods presented, and consider how to apply them to their CI positions. Participants will learn to: Work with their intelligence users to define intelligence problems and scope intelligence projects: Frame analytic questions in a way that anticipates customer interest rather than simply responding to it Take an inductive approach to intelligence analysis Know how to identify key trends and associated indicators

He is both a successful intelligence consultant and practitioner, having established, implemented, and managed competitive intelligence programs with corporations across a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, information technology, financial services, and consumer products. Ken has been featured on CNBC’s Squawk Box, and he also has been quoted extensively on matters of competitive strategy and intelligence in Time, Investors Business Daily, American Banker, and other prominent journals. Ken is a member of the Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals – having served on the Society’s Board of Directors from 1999 – 2002 – and the Association of Former Intelligence Officers, and the Association for Strategic Planning. Ken holds a Masters Degree in International Relations and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science, cum laude, from The American University.
