Presentation Synopsis:

What is Social Market Intelligence (SMINT) and how can Competitive Intelligence Professionals (CIPs) cope with the Social Business revolution it encompasses?   Big Data sets, crunching needs and how to make sense of the new Business Environment, Threats, Opportunities and ever more frequent Black Swans. How to leverage the Social Consumer and adapt to the exponentially faster rate of change. A vision will be shared on what is to come, as well as, the route to consider for a World Class CI function.

Luis Madureira is ÜBERBRANDS Managing Partner, helping organizations successfully navigate their competitive environment. Previously the Global Competitive Intelligence Practice Lead for Ogilvy Consulting, possesses vast experience in Consulting – Ogilvy, ÜBERBRANDS - and in FMCG - Diageo, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Red Bull, United Coffee, Heineken. Held leadership roles in Intelligence, Strategy, Marketing, and Sales, both locally and globally. Chairs SCIP Portugal and lectures internationally. Author of SMINT, the first CI approach in real-time, and INNOVaction, an end-to-end innovation program. Graduated from NOVA SBE in Economics and is CIP-I & II accredited by ACI. PhD Candidate at NOVA IMS in Information Management.


Andrew Beurschgens
Head, Market Intelligence BT


Andrew is the Head of Market Intelligence at the UK mobile network operator, EE, an operating subsidiary of British Telecom, the incumbent fixed, mobile, consumer and business market serving telecommunications operator in the UK. In cooperation with other volunteers from both the practitioner and supply side of the market and competitive intelligence discipline, Andrew is acting Volunteer of the SCIP UK Chapter.  He is a recipient of both the SCIP Catalyst Award, a Distinguished SCIP Member Award as well as individually recognised for his volunteer services to the profession and its members.  He has served on the SCIP Board and Executive Committee.
