SCIP Boot Camp: Pricing Intelligence: An Introduction to Revenue Management

 

Abstract:

Revenue Management was first leveraged on a broad scale by the airline and hotel industry. In recent years it has spread to a variety of industries: medical services, transportation, industrial manufacturing, distribution, telecommunications, software, and the list goes on. While pricing has existed since the first product was sold, it was primarily cost-based. Pricing was (and continues to be for many) a simple exercise, identify your cost and price above this to realize a profit.   While cost based pricing is simple and widely accepted it is totally devoid of market considerations.

 

Value based pricing challenges intelligence professionals to price based on maximizing revenue and profit. This requires quantifying:

  • Customer Willingness-To-Pay
  •  Product Value
  • How these change across the customer and product portfolio

 

The aim of this bootcamp is to help intelligence professionals develop a high level understanding of Revenue Management. This bootcamp will combine revenue management theories, interactive discussion, real-life business examples and mock exercises. Our aim is to empower intelligence professionals with a deeper understanding of pricing so you can help drive improvements at your organization.

Michael Stanisz is a devoted practitioner of data driven business solutions and the use of advanced analytics to drive Revenue Management improvements.  With a keen eye for details and a history of exploring complex data sets and models, he has a profound ability to understand and interpret trends in data for the benefit of the client.

 With senior industry (e.g. Anheuser Busch InBev) and consulting experience (e.g. Pricing Solutions Inc.), accompanied with his solid academic background, Michael uses a technical approach to Revenue Management problems incorporating advanced statistical methods to deliver profit and process improvement.

Michael holds a BSC in Mathematics from McMaster University (Hamilton, Canada) as well as two advanced degrees; MMA, Queens University (Kingston, Canada) and MBA, University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada).

 

 

Avy Punwasee, has over 15 years of senior Revenue Management experience spanning pricing, strategy and analytics.  He has transitioned between being an in-house practitioner with large companies such as Anheuser Busch InBev (Director, Revenue Management) and Ford Motor Company (Pricing Manager – Parts) to consulting for many leading companies on a global scale.  Avy specializes in strategic pricing implementation and has consistently delivered significant profit improvements across diverse industries.

He is adept at enabling companies make sense of their complex and generally diverse environments, establishing how best to capitalize through better pricing. Avy brings leading-edge Revenue Management techniques with strategic pricing accompanied with an executional focus. 

Avy is a Professional Pricing Society speaker and holds an MBA and BBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University (Toronto, Canada).

Cancellation Policy:

Payment in full is required immediately upon registration and is non-refundable.If,for any reason, you are unable to attend the event for which you are registered, and notify SCIP in writing more than 3 weeks prior to the event start date, a one-time credit will be issued for use toward registration at any other event. The credit must be used within 90 days of the original registration date and can be applied to any event scheduled up to one calendar year from the event for which you originally registered. Credits may not be transferred more than once, and all unused credit(s) will be forfeited after 90 days. Cancellation within 21 days prior to the event will incur a one time fee of $500. The remaining balance can be applied to any event up to one calendar year from the event for which you originally registered. Notification must be received by SCIP in writing. If you do not attend the event and fail to notify SCIP PRIOR to the event, no credit will be issued. Every effort is made to ensure that the speakers noted in this brochure are present, but changes beyond SCIP's control may occur.
