"To raise the impact that we can have, it's critical for CI units to be close to the decision-makers. We need to participate in various internal forums, so we know what the intelligence needs are, and so that we'll be able to give what is expected in a timely manner."

Looking back, what's one piece of career advice that has been particularly valuable?
Be open-minded and encourage your colleagues and employees to say what they think.

What was the reason that you got into Intelligence?
I felt that Israeli corporations, especially those competing in global markets are not using CI enough, and CI did not become embedded in their strategic planning activity. I think it makes them less competitive.

How do you see CI evolving over the next 5 or so years?
The challenge is to combine new IT technologies within CI activity and to be able to create better value for decision makers.

What's a go-to resource on your bookshelf?

Only the Paranoid Survive by Andy Grove.

How has SCIP helped your career?
SCIP is a leading body of knowledge on CI together and business strategy. It is highly important for CI practitioners that SCIP is backed methodologically. The reputation of SCIP is giving CI practitioners self-confidence and the ability to do their tasks in the best way.  I expect SCIP to encourage the development of academic curriculum, which will add to implement its discipline also in the academia.
